Once upon a time, a naive mid-western girl hopped in a muddy-water brown, Mazda B2000 pick-up truck with $32 in her pocket and headed south.

Two days later, she landed in the great state of Texas and quickly set up home in a sketchy neighborhood, transferred to a tiny private college, and was gainfully employed with several serving jobs.

Two weeks later, she was introduced to a persistent Soldier, who relentlessly asked for her phone number for three months. Finally, in a moment of perceived weakness, the digits were mumbled under her breath and that following June they were wed. 

Many moves, lots of grace, and four daughters later those two characters live an incredibly messy, blessed life in Tennessee with some fierce warrior friends and family.

I am the Household 6 for the Alger Squad. I suffer from a case of brutal honesty that sometimes ignites a flurry of words. I say and write about a multitude of things to include my love for: 

~ Jesus: He's my BFF so I love talking, learning, and teaching about Him. 

~ Words: I crave reading and writing in the fiber of my being. Both have always been an escape for me. Whoever said "sticks and stones will break my bones but words will never hurt me" was full of it. There is incredible power in words and I love them just shy of chocolate.

~ Big families: I am from one and have one. The mix of personalities, talents, and stories are what give me inspiration. The more the merrier and laundry, yeah, lots of laundry.

~ Homeschooling: I have been incredibly fortunate to be able to homeschool our daughters. Every year looks different, heck, almost every day. I cherish the time I get to pour into our girls, experience life, and learn from and with them. 

~ Travel: I love traveling near and far. The more exotic and adventurous, the better. Have appetite, will travel.
